Our environmental team supply these services to clients ranging from large factories who discharge into waterways, through to schools and private landowners seeking a water source on their property.
When is a surface water investigation needed?
A surface water investigation could be required of a commercial operator as part of the conditions featured in their consent, which allows them to produce a discharge that may affect the surrounding environment.
This may see a regular monitoring program put in place, in which surface water samples are tested at regular intervals to assess the company’s compliance with their consent and potential impact on nearby waterways, etc.
A reactive surface water investigation could be called for following an unplanned spill that has seen a substance enter a waterway. In this instance our environmental services team will retrieve and test samples from the waterway to identify and measure any contamination.
What is the purpose of a groundwater investigation?
Landowners seeking a reliable water source on their property can benefit from our groundwater investigation and reporting services. We can assess the quantity of groundwater available from a present bore or spring on your land, and have samples tested by our laboratory partner to see if the water supply is of a high enough quality for the intended use.
