Ecological
Assessments
and Reporting
Understand the ecology of your site.
Opportunities, requirements & management solutions.
Our environmental scientists can survey a site’s existing and potential ecological values, to identify ecological opportunities and constraints to the design process, the impacts of planned activity and help develop tailored management strategies.
These scientific services cover flora and fauna and ecosystems within the terrestrial, freshwater and coastal environments, allowing you to plan for the present and future.
When are ecological assessments needed?
An ecological assessment may be required for a resource consent application in the case where potential and actual ecological impacts of the proposed project have been identified and need to be appropriately managed. Ecological assessment at project outset can also identify site-specific ecological constraints and opportunities to guide the master planning process.
A detailed investigation enables us to draw scientific conclusions about what flora and fauna are present at your site, what effects your proposed activity will have, and what can be done to manage the ecological impact of your project.
By working synergistically with the natural environment we add value to projects and sites. Better future outcomes come from a smart approach that incorporates natural capital into your master planning.
When is ecological reporting required?
Sometimes ongoing ecological monitoring at your site can be required to stay compliant with your resource consent. In this case we can design and carry out surveys to assess any effects of your activity on ecological values and provide an assessment of compliance.
