Cabinet have approved changes to the Resource Management Act, and announced fast tracking of legislation so that ’shovel-ready’ infrastructure projects could be consented in as few as 25 days.

“The success of our health response gives us a head start on the world to get our economy moving again and this fast-tracking process will allow our economic recovery to accelerate,” says Environment Minister David Parker.
“Projects that helped alleviate housing challenges, encouraged active transport and enhanced the environment would be prioritised”, Parker said.
