This year, from June 19, Matariki will be in the dawn sky – signalling the start of the Māori New Year. It is a time to come together with family and friends, to celebrate new life, remember those who’ve passed and to plan for the future.
BTW’s Te Ao Māori Group are underway with planning initiatives that foster a connection with Māori culture and heritage, as well as iwi and hapu. This group advises on business strategy and steps we can take to authentically reflect Māori values within our practice and workplace.
Our core business values share synergies with much of the Māori value system and an understanding of Tikanga Māori and the 3 principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi – partnership, participation and protection – lead our approach to project work and inform our business practice.
