BTW are proud to support Hands-On Otago, a Taranaki Student Scholarship that will give secondary school students from around the maunga, an opportunity to experience first hand what studying at University of Otago is like.
Recipients spend a week living away from home at a residential college, complete a project on campus and visit parts of Dunedin.
This scholarship initiative is thanks to Tane Whitehead, ex-Spotswood College student, currently in his second year at Otago University and grateful recipient of the Hands-On Otago experience in 2019. Tane says the aim of this scholarship is to show students the potential they hold and to present studying at University of Otago as a realistic option for our Tamariki.
BTW is one of a number of local businesses who have pledged money to this scholarship programme, and are excited to see akonga from around our region benefit from this immersive learning experience.
